... dealing with shit. Or something. I just wish life would stop being so fucking complicated.

Family drama wasn't that easily averted, of course. Looong story, but basically, we're back exactly where we started. Guess that annual, awkward family visit is on as usual. *sigh*

Watching Voyager more or less continuesly, so I'm already at 3x15. Still, I'm mostly unimpressed and fairly tired of Kes. I like most of the other characters, though.

World of Warcaft will be launching its third expansion at midnight tonight so I'm a little torn. Be online and suffer the extreme lag for a peek at the new stuff or wait a while, until the rage is fading.

I meant for this post to be very much longer but... I just feel so tired all the time. So tired.

Weird day.

ladydrace: (Burp!)
I survived the blizzard and got my groceries. So far, so good. Spent most of today in bed, though. See that goop over there in the corner? Those are my lungs. Yup. Ow.

World of Warcraft got an insane patch on today's update. It's a completely new game. Not sure if I like it... Oh well. I immediately made a dwarf shaman and a troll druid. If nothing else, just to check out the newbie areas. Still not sure I like the new game. Could be just because I'm sick. Everything is still feeling a little fuzzy.

Speaking of, I hate that point when you start to recover and regain your sense of smell and realize just how much you stink. Ew.

Another weird fact is that just after B moved out (and took the only can opener with him), I chipped a nail. The dent was roughly in the middle of the nail and today when I cut my nails, it was grown out far enough to be cut off. It seems like some surreal sort of measuring band for how long I've managed without him.

I... I feel weird... Going back to bed.
ladydrace: (Plotbunnies From Playboy)
Finished watching Boston Legal. It is without comparison the most quotable show in existence! I must icon it. I must! Some day... ahem.

Am up to speed on Criminal Minds and NCIS, not yet on Castle and Merlin.

Not reading any fanfic at all right now. But I have lots of bookmarks, so no doubt, I will get to your fanfic at some point. Stay tuned. :o)

Bunnies don't like when I'm a head case, so no writing is being done. At least, not beyond some random nitpicking and fidlling around. Plots are still being born, though. *sigh* My wip folder is about to puke, as always.

World of Warcraft finally gave me the last achievement for my 4 year long journey through the game. So, I am now the proud owner of the Violet Proto Drake! Which also gave me the super-duper-fastest-EVAH riding speed. The chase, baby, THE CHASE! Mwahahahaaa! Now, if I could just get my alts lvld up before Cataclysm. But let's face it. I'm just too lazy.

News.

And now, the news:

The same day we got the final divorce papers, B got a message from Floozie, saying she broke up with him. Not 12 hours later, she updated her Facebook page with a new relationship. B isn't too upset about the breakup. He saw it coming. He is a bit bothered by the instant new boyfriend, but still calm about it all. So no hearts broken.

My Bert The Farting Hippo will be arriving today! He would have arrived yesterday, but the delivery dude held him hostage! He wouldn't give him to me, unless I paid some (frankly very unexpected) import tax. In cash. Exact change only. *le sigh* At least he would come back today.

Pea is really very sick. He is in so much pain it breaks my heart. He's home all this week from daycare and I took care of him yesterday to avoid B losing any more hours at work. I was supposed to again today, but I honestly couldn't bear it. Pea clung to his daddy and cried, cried, cried. He calmed down after about half an hour, but the slightest hint that daddy was leaving started it all over again. So we decided that we weren't doing him any favours by screwing up his routine any further. So he went back home with daddy. Which is also good for me, because I'm still a bit sick. Getting better, but in need of more rest and hot drinks.

I'm trying to start watching Star Trek Voyager. Maybe it's because DS9 was so awesome with characterization, but woah, the whole cast of VOY seems SO very bland. I'm hoping it's an early season problem, but I'm told not to hold my breath. Still, I'm almost through season 1, and I'm at least not bored out of my skull. The Doctor in particular catches my fancy. I dunno. I always have a thing for the artificial lifeforms. Data. Vic Fontaine. And now the Doctor.

Tried to watch The Big Bang Theory, but even the promise of better episodes later could not save me from the fact that I felt monumentally stupid and somewhat offended that Penny was THAT dumb. So the guys were too smart for me to understand the jokes at all and Penny was too stupid for me to connect with at all. So I'm sorry, but that series is not going to grow on me anytime soon.

World of Warcraft is working beautifully, but I'm too tired and poorly to concentrate when I play. *sigh* Sometimes I think the world hates me. I was SO ready for some more dungeon achievements, finally. Blah. Also, just waiting for Hallows End to come around, so I can get my new mount! I just need to become "The Hallowed" and then I will have completed all the seasonal achievements! Which means... Blue. Proto. Drake. It shall be epic. Oh yes.

Stay tuned for more in the future.

First things first...

MERLIN TONIGHT HOLY SMOKING FANGASM, BATMAN!!!!!!!!!!

Ahem. Moving on.

[livejournal.com profile] tli  and I are settling in to something frighteningly similar to roommates, so maybe it's a good thing the week is almost over. I'm going to miss the fangasms, though. And the crazy person with the huge tea-mug, who taunts me endlessly about fic. Hehe. She is shameless, just so you know. Also, she brought me enough tv-series and movies to last me until... oh god, forever! It will keep the memories fresh, that's for sure. :oD

Almost done watching Criminal Minds, which means (as [livejournal.com profile] tli  is constantly making me aware of - the bastard) that I will have to wait for new episodes to air like the rest of the world. GAH! I'm addicted to the characters. I'm still a little afraid of delving into fandom, but I suspect I will at some point.

We went to the cinema last night and watched Inception. It was amazing! A total mind-fuck! And I just know that it will spawn reality-denying cults by the thousands, like back when the Matrix arrived. Oh dear. I do love the concept though and the characters were extremely likeable. I spent the first 5 mins after meeting Eames trying to remember where I'd seen the actor before, and then I spent the rest of the movie going: "OMG it's Shinzon!!!". Great fun! Also, I think I ship Arthur/Ariadne. I think I'm allowed the occasional served-up-on-a-platter het ship. And they're young and cute. What more do you need?

In other news. World of Warcraft hates me. After an epic crash I had to reinstall the whole thing (nightmare in itself, I might add) but my computer keeps saying that the disk is scratched or something. Will have to borrow B's on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Pea has been very sick this week, but B has been handling it beautifully. He has seemed on top of things the whole time and has kept me updated to my heart's content. It keeps my stress level so wonderfully low and makes me very optimistic about the future. :o)

On a final note:

MERLIN TONIGHT OMFG SO EXCITED!!!!

Some of the designers for that series are totally playing world of warcraft. Proof?

Spoiler cut, I suppose. )

It's been a really good day today. Pea slept in and gave us all some much needed rest. When he did wake up, he was mellow and adorable. Dropping him off at daycare was the easiest yet. The minute we came through the door, he made grabby hands for the nearest caretaker and hardly had time to look up from the toys when I said goodbye. I swear, he was going: "Yeah, yeah, mommy, whatever. Can't talk. Playing."

In the words of hubby when I texted him the good news: "That's my boy!" :oD

After the drop off, I went by the store to find a sale of pweddy flowers. So I bought myself some. They look so lovely in their vase on my table. Did I mention that I love flowers??

Then I went home and watched episode 3 of Primeval. Oddly enough, episode 1 and 2 did nothing for me. They left me with something of a 'meh' feeling. But episode 3?! HOLY MOTHER OF...  THE ANGST!!! I fear I'm hooked...

I liked Nick Cutter from the first episode. He's just such a great, big ball of angst and episode 3 really fucked with his mind. I LOVE IT!

Stephen is a really vapid sort of guy, who makes me wonder if there's anyone at all in there, under all his make up and spray on tan... But he did show a teeny tiny amount of soul this episode. Left me vaguely intrigued.

Abby always distracts me. She looks so much like either Baby Spice or some weird sort of mannequin, that I always get a little sidetracked when I see her. But she's cute and her accent is lovely.

Connor is my favorite. But then again, I always fall for the nerd.

Helen Cutter is one insane bitch. I love it.

Claudia has totally got the hots for Nick. The drama. Ooooooh.

The dinos... are horrid. But my imagination can easily fill in the blanks. Just like it does with Merlin when the plotholes become bigger than Camelot. I liked the underwater ones of episode 3, though. Pretty scary in murky waters, where the lousy CGI is well hidden. :oP

When I was done watching, I joined hubby in town to buy some more shelves for our "den". Basically the room where we geek out with our computers, books and stuff. Now we finally have enough shelves to put all of our books out of Pea's reach! HURRAH! Everything looks so... tidy now! It's a little spooky...

When we came home with the shelves, there was another surprise. Our WoW Authenticators arrived today! So not only are we now optimally protected (Hackers be hatin' but mah gold is safe, suckers!) we also got the cute little core hound pup. D'aaaw. Goes nicely with the Celestial Steed I bought yesterday. Ahem.

Pea was a champ and charmed his way through the whole day at daycare. Came home, had his dinner and bath, and fell asleep in 5 mins. What a little angel I have. D'aaww.

A few random thoughts for today.

I think I've come to the realisation, that I cannot force my writing. I might feel bad about not finishing things right away, but I cannot write unless the groove is there. So if the groove tells me to write a little stupid ficlet instead of the epic I was working on.. well then, ficlet it is. Whatever gets words on paper.

I've also noticed that everything runs a lot smoother when I make the decisions. Not that hubby doesn't make any, far from it. But when it comes to everyday life, taking care of Pea, going to the store and the general flow of the day, things tend to run easier when I dictate. Makes me feel like a bit of a manipulative bitch of a wife, but whatever keeps the wheels spinning.

So... I think that's about it. Have a great evening, people!
ladydrace: (Default)
Pea is simply adorable these days! When I tuck him in at night, he holds on to my hand and won't let go until he's asleep. It's murder for my back to bend over the crib like that, but the sheer emotional storm I get every time more than makes up for it. :oD D'aaaaawww. Other than that, he's really cuddly. This morning hubby took him into bed with us when he woke up. Usually, this means pain... and lots of it. But today, he snuggled up to me! Ok, so he did tweak my nose a few times and gnawed on my arm (with his sharp little teeth, OW!) but aaaawww. Mommy's heart melted!

Right now, let's ignore all the hair pulling, eye poking, biting, scratching and slapping we usually endure from Pea and just focus on the sweet, little angel he is when sleepy. *sigh*

Ok so... today...

Went grocery shopping. Store was nightmare. Anxiety baaaaad. Met some friends we hadn't seen in a while (Like over a year) and I almost cried when they left, because we're so out of touch with people because of my fucking brain. :o( *Shakes fist at mental issues* Damn you!

Still writing my Merlin bunny... I fear it might be getting away from me a bit. But I guess we'll have to wait and see.

And just for the record, I'm the biggest nerd ever. I want one of these. Really badly. So I ask myself, do I really want to spend 20 euros on this? And the answer is.... yes. I do. *facepalm*

If anyone wants me, I'll be playing World of Warcraft on the Argent Dawn server. Name is Morgaia, Human Mage. I've got rep to grind. Screw you, real world.
