I really don't know. I've been having this kind of stress problems recently a lot. Painkillers usually help me, but I'm not sure they're supposed to. Can you rest?
Deep breaths and perspective are my advice. Think about what's bothering you, think about the fact that whatever it is will soon pass, that the feeling will not last forever and that in even a couple of hours time you'll feel differently. Let yourself feel what you're feeling, look at the feeling, and then remind yourself that it is just a moment, not your entire life. Then count your blessings - Pea, your home, your friends, etc. And then feel a giant virtual hug from me. *HUG*
I'd say it wouldn't hurt to take your mind off things, but I know how hard that can be. The only thing really is to let it take its course I suppose and find what happiness you can in the little things in the mean time - which isn't I realise remotely helpful :(
I'm sorry you're dealing with this. Is there something you can do to distract yourself? Veg out in front of episodes of Merlin or something? That's sometimes the best you can do is just to convince yourself to get through it, even if it just means saying to yourself, "I will get through the next hour", one at a time.
and trying to think of things no one's suggested yet.
Call someone IRL on the phone. Probably just tell them to listen for a while, and talk about what you're feeling, as coherently or incoherently as you can.
If you don't have anyone who can help like that right now, do the same thing in writing, here or in email or whatever.
Can you take a walk or get some other kind of excercise and change of scene? That always helps me immensely, especially when there's no time limit so I can just wander til the stress goes down slowly. It's a way to dissipate at least some of the energy, so even if the mind is still going in circles, they're not quite as fast.
Draw/paint/sculpt/build with blocks? (I use my kids blocks for this, don't know if Pea has any.) Create something specific or challenge yourself to build the tallest possible tower/cover 8 whole pages with red crayon/etc. Or destroy towers/rip up paper for anger therapy.

Well, the last thing I can think of is play a video game of the blow aliens up variety, but...
I'm sorry. *tries to help*

*Giant virtual Hug*
Did it help? Or do I need to squeeze harder?

Got no solutions but plenty of sympathy, love, good wishes and a desire to listen with ears and heart.
Lots and lot of major hugs!!!!!
