Happy Mother's Day!
And happy it was indeed! I'm so tired, but what an amazing day!
PEA TOOK HIS FIRST STEPS TODAY!!! On mother's day, no less! *happy dance* Am I just the luckiest mommy in the whole damn world, or what?!
We went to visit hubby's parents and they stuffed his face full of all kinds of things he'd never tried before:
Coffee (YUM!!)
Whipped cream (YUM!)
Cake with custard and icing (YUM!)
Marzipan (Not quite yum, but edible)
Chocolate (YUM!)
He also managed to gnaw a bit on the dog's hide-roll/bone before we caught him. He decided it was icky, thank god. LOL.
The sugary foods made him fly around the house, investigate everything and be very loud. Good times were had all round. Except maybe the dog. Pea made it a point to shout at the poor thing every time it came near him. It was just too damn exciting, apparently. He shook and stepped towards it and then kinda regretted it and shouted/roared when it came closer. Eventually, the dog got so scared of him that it fled whenever Pea looked at it. They did manage some sort of compromise before we left, where Pea was allowed to pet it (it was shedding, and apparently, small, sticky baby fingers pulling out tufts of hair was kinda nice) and the dog was allowed to sniff and lick him when he had his back turned. Hehe. It was a sight to see. :oP
We also got a stroller. OMG that's so awesome! Pea will absolutely love it! He's been craning his neck in the baby carriage for ages already, trying to see where we're going. What he does not love, however, is the car seat. He hates it. Like burning.
But when we came home, he stumbled his first unsupported steps towards daddy and later again towards the new stroller. :oD *so proud* I'm so insanely happy that he did it on the weekend. He's been on the edge for a while and I was worried that he would do it the first time at daycare and that I'd miss it. Not only did he do it at home, but both me and hubby vitnessed it. D'aw. My baby.
He'll be a year old soon and oh BOY, have I got goodies to show when that time comes! Expect cute-gasms!!
Have a great night, folks!
