Just because I'm smug as hell and very proud of this piece, I thought I'd be completely self absorbed and quote one of my own fics today.

 

The bitter regret seeped out of him. In the quiet second after his last rasping breath he heard again in his mind:

“I forgive you.”

And his heart soared as it stopped.
