I'm back! Haz baby!
Hello again people! As I'm sure most of you have realized by now, my absence these past few days has been due to birth! Finally! The whole story is long and probably excruciating, so I'll just give a quick run down of events here and throw in a few pics.
Monday afternoon the doctors decided to start off the birth with a labour inducing drip. I cannot even begin to mention just how many holes got poked in me during that day. But it was a LOT! Contractions started off nicely and I stayed with them for about 6 hours before asking for pain management. Since they had put in a spinal catheter earlier in case of c-section, I used that, as it was convinient. Despite a few more hours of contractions, my uterus was just not preparing properly. I never opened more than a single cm or so, and that's just not enough for any kind of birth. So in the end, I had a calmly prepared c-section and after so much waiting and stressing, 01.42 AM tuesday morning, Green Pea was born.
After 3 more days in the hospital, to monitor for after effects of the c-section and check out baby for signs of complications with my anxiety meds, we were finally allowed home today. I don't think I've ever been more relieved in my whole life.
So now I proudly introduce to you all.... Sejr! Our beautiful baby boy! 51 cm long, 3780 grams heavy and perfectly healthy from the first second.
And now, the thing you've all been waiting for.... PICTURES!!!
Fresh from delivery. Look at that round tummy! A little upset, but hey, who can blame him?
And one more, just because he's lovely and new, and not quite so upset here.
5 mins later, dressed and happy in my woozy arms. I'm still recovering from the anesthesia but deliriously happy. And look, he's sucking on my finger!
Look at him rubbing his little tired eyes. D'aawwwwww....
And here we are earlier today, finally home. Wow, it's been a long few days.
And closer... cause he's even more cute up close!

And since you had a c-section, he's capable of fulfilling prophecies in Scottish plays!

And uh... EH? Scottish Plays? (lost me there...)
NO CLUE where I picked this up, but...
I think it might be something by Shakespeare.

Tolkien revisited this disappointing (to him) Macbeth moment in Lord of the Rings. His Witch King had a prophecy attached: not by the hand of man shall he fall. He was injured by Merry (a Hobbit, not a Man) and then killed by Eowyn (a woman, not a man).

Welcome to the world, Sejr! (Would that be, more or less, "say-jer" in my pitiful American English tongue?)
How are you feeling? How's it going? Are you exhausted? I'm sending super-bigs hugs to you all!!

What is his name?
I don't know grams but he looks big enough and healthy.
You all are blessed to have such a loving family.
Oh, he is SO CUTE!
I kept checking LJ to get some news. So glad you are all well. Get rest. Accept help. Are you nursing? Drink lots of water.
Enjoy!

Does it have a meaning?
My choosen name - Ahavia, means Beloved in Hebrew which is nice to be called.
Blessings, again.

So rest is easily had, thirst is making sure I drink a lot automatically, and we're getting loads of help, including a daily visit from healthcare people for the first week at home. So we're in good hands.
Thanks for the blessings. We really are blessed.

Glad it all went ok and you're both fine.
I have to admit it was a bit of a shock to see the pics and find out he wasn't actually green...
