Top 'something' shipping meme

5. Jake/Ziyal
6. Arthur/Merlin
7. Merlin/Morgana
8. Colin/Bradley

Top 5 Love Triangles/Threesomes

1. Garak/Bashir/O'Brien
2. Merlin/Morgana/Arthur
3. Garak/Bashir/Dax
4. Garak/Bashir/Odo
5. Colin/Bradley/Santiago

Top 5 Canon Pairings

1. Rogue/Gambit
2. Odo/Kira
3. Jadzia/Worf
4. Horatio/Yelena (Ok, I know they never got together, but they both admitted they had something!!)
5. Shadowcat/Colossus

Top 5 "Not my favorite, but they're very nice alternate choices" Shippings

1. Lee/Palmer. (How cute can casual sex get??)
2. Sirius/Remus. (I can hardly even admit this one... I try not to ship in the HP universe. I REALLY try.)
3. Picard/Q
4. Janeway/Chakotay
5. Tony/Ziva

Top 5 Crossgen Shippings

1. Garak/Bashir. (No idea how much of a gap there is, but Garak is certainly older than Bashir.)
2. Dax/Worf. (Hey! The slug is 400 years old!)
3. Picard/Q. (Yeah, YOU tell me how old Q is... go on!)
4. Van Helsing/Carl. (He did say he fought the romans at Masada...)
5. Hellboy/Liz. (He was like 60 or something?)

Top 5 "wtf that makes no sense... but I LOVE it!" Shippings

1. Picard/Enterprise. (A man and his ship. It's a tale of epic love!)
2. Tripp/Calleigh. (I think Tripp is married and I can't find anyone else who ships this. But... but... they're so CUTE together!)
I can't find more. The rest make perfect sense. :o)

Top 5 "I just don't feel what everyone else is feelin'" Shippings

1. Harry/Hermione.
2. Odo/Quark. (They work much better as counterparts. If the tension dissolved into sex, they wouldn't be fun anymore.)
3. Fred/George. (Oh god, NO! I don't mind sibling ships ((Wincest anyone?)) but these two? HELL NO!)
4. Data/Geordi. (It's tempting, yes, and I firmly believe that Data has propositioned Geordi in the course of their relationship. But I also firmly believe that Geordi would see it as his duty to educate his friend in the boundaries of friendships and sexual relationships.)
5. Gibbs/anyone on his team. (He just wouldn't. I can't see it. ESPECIALLY Abby!!)

Top 5 "I hope these die" Shippings

1. Bones/Booth. (This one even went canon. But woah, worse chemistry is rare...)
2. Snape/Harry. (This is just one long epic of abuse. There is no WAY I can see these two developing tender feelings for each other, so any sex/love between them can only be abusive. And it creeps me out!)
3. Fred/George. (Again, because these two have something better than sex. Yeah, you heard me.)
4. Arthur/Gwen. (I don't mind it really, I just absolutely HATE the way it was brought about, and since there's no way of turning back the clock, I really wish they would just let it go. Not gonna happen, but I can dream, can't I?)
5. Gibbs/Jenny. (Please just... let it go. Gawd!)

Interesting collection of lists, and I see how Garak/Bashir/third person took up most of the triangles ;) And... people ship Odo/Quark? Oh, my brain..

Well, I don't do threesomes all that well...

But yeah, Odo/Quark... *shivers*

I don't do threesomes all that well either, but I do like the idea of triangles (ie one person being caught in the middle), when they're well written. And don't drag out; I've found very few three-or-more-person dynamics that have held out for a significant amount of time and managed to keep my interest.

And I'm usually very much live and let live when it comes to shipping, but the idea of Odo/Quark just makes my brain hurt - and not in a good way :(

Okay, I do agree on Harry/Hermione (but I HATE Ron for her so much!!!!) but Harry/Snape? It can work, with the right author. But I really prefer Snape/Hermione.

Ok, what specifically bothers you about Ron/Hermione?

[identity profile] cyranothe2nd.livejournal.com 2009-12-07 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)
I just don't think Ron is a good person. I don't like him and I love Hermione and I wish her with someone that is more intelligent and less...babyish.

Funny, that's basically what I like about him. That's he's such a normal (albeit often annoying) person. They certainly are an interesting match.

See, she's so extraordinary and I think she needs someone who understands her and values her and I don't see Ron doing that. Not that I was on the H/Hr ship by any means (I think it was pretty clear in canon that they were never going to get together) but...Ron's just not my fav person. The last book really put the nail in his coffin for me--how he just abandoned Hermione and Harry in a fit of pique. I lost all respect for him then. And I feel like the other characters are always carrying him, that he doesn't really add anything (except for the chess playing in the Chamber of Secrets).
I was sure, before the 7th book came out, that he would die in it because of the general uselessness of the character. I thought it would be the 'sad but inevitable' death of the series--tear-jerking and impactful for the two main leads. He always seemed like a foil for them more than a person to root for.
But, I do realize that the books are about those angsty teen years and that people change as they get older. Still, I'm just not feeling the Hermione/Ron hook up. As I said, I'm a big fan of SS/HG and (weirdly) Pansy Parkinson and Ron :) Because in fan fic, tension!pairing is the most fun (why I like Draco/Harry too.)

Oh....about SS/HP. I agree with you that this historical hatred is a little hard to get over but I have a soft spot for this pairing because it was a SS/HP fan fic that introduced me to the D/s lifestyle and it was a big reason I investigated it. So *shrugs* as I said, it's the author that can make it or break it. The only pairing I don't really like is Snape/Malfoy or the really dark Voldie/Harry (the redemptive ones are bomb though).
