Yet Julian's unrelenting ministrations finally roused the Cardassian, and he happily turned to accommodate the young man. "Mmh," he smiled with a sigh. Green Pea update!

So, we went for our second scan today and everything looked just fine. A good strong heart performed admirably for us and I felt several good, hard kicks during the scanning. We got no new picture of the Pea, but that's ok. Not much difference to see from the last one and the scan was not meant to capture a full picture, only focus on smaller bits at a time. But it was still wonderful to see the baby move around and see with our own eyes that everything was perfect. It's a textbook little human in there. Perfect spine, strong heart, sturdy limbs, brain, liver, kidneys... it's all there.

We had hoped to know the gender, but all we got was a vague guess. So until further notice it's still just a Green Pea. Oh well. It's the surprise of the ages and a natural thing not knowing, so we're fine with it. We're happy either way.  Besides, if we announced a gender we would probably drown in the gender-specified pastels that make me want to scream. So I strongly suspect that it's better this way.

Also we talked to a really nice doctor about my meds and got some really good explanations to a lot of things that damn midwife never saw fit to explain. So despite the town being in a state of absolute post-christmas/pre-new year madness, we made it home with only minor stress and a very welcome feeling of ease, since the baby is fine. We never get tired of hearing that.
