Am I a racist?

Ok, so... I've spent the last few days (or whatever spare time I had) reading up on the whole race-fail of the Airbender movie. And I see the point of the outrage. I really do. And I agree that the casting choices were less than ideal... but one thing still boggles me.

Personally, I never saw any of the main characters in the cartoon as being any particular race. Sure, their clothes and manners screamed Asian-inspired, but frankly, the kids looked so... average that I have a hard time seeing them as any particular race. They all have huge eyes of all colors (much blue actually), pretty thick American accents and such a whirlwind blend of cultures and practises between them that I really could never pin any race on them. Any of them.

I agree: The water tribes style of living suggests Inuit. The Fire Nation suggests Asian. But frankly, the people? Never struck me as any definate race.

Does that make me a racist?

Pea managed to get food onto a spoon and then navigate the spoon to his mouth for the first time ever today! Mommy is SO proud! Never mind that the rest of the food went... well... everywhere.

Also, experimenting with yet another sleeping routine, since the old one kinda morphed into something just as exhausting as rocking him to sleep. First time was promising.

Hubby almost done with play. Only 2 more days to go. *counting hours*

Got stuff done today, despite being sick as a dog. And I washed the living room floor! Hoorah!

There was bad stuff too, but I'm ignoring it.
