Well dang...

I'm watching Due South. And before you ask, yes- I ship it. Like the fucking navy! But this show has also made me aware of somthing quite annoying.
You see, when I was younger, I had a thing for tall, slick and handsome stars. Clean-shaven, dark haired, lightly muscled, usually playing a hero of some sort.
I think it all started with Johnny Weissmüller. I was completely addicted to the black and white Tarzan series and movies featuring him. And it's a definite possibility that he set the trend for the future.
I mean, just look at him! I can't have been more than 5 when I first drew little hearts around his picture in the TV guide...

When I hit my teens, several stars made their way into my daydreams.
There was Dean Cain:

David James Elliot:

Alec Baldwin:

Heck, even David Duchovny for a while, even though I was too chicken to watch X-Files:

Then when I hit my 20s, I had almost convinced myself I was over it. But then I watched Equilibrium, spotted Christian Bale and I then decided I could live with the infatuation for a while longer. (And of course it didn't help that he became Batman later on. Unf.)

And this brings me up to now.
I was so sure I was over it by now. That I'd outgrown it. That I no longer have a type. Granted, a lot of other types of stars have made me crosseyed lately, but now? Now I realize that I'll probably always have a soft spot for this particular type. Tall, handsome heroes.
Damn you Paul Gross. Damn you and your good looks.
