Yes, season 7 more or less started with new super baddie chomping up Cas and going: "Oh, the angel? I ate him. New plots, please."
And not only was there no death scene to speak of, there was also NO grief from anyone. So not cool. I did get the 'keeping the trenchcoat' deal from canon. It's all they find of Cas afterwards and Dean sorta takes it with him, never to be seen again.
But honestly, even if I wasn't a shipper I would say that's a pretty lame way of killing off what became a major character. I can actually pretty easily accept the killing off, but it was done BADLY!
