Ask me to associate you with five things. When I do this, post this meme and an explanation of your interest in those five things in your journal.

[livejournal.com profile] kerry_louiseassociated me with these 5 things:

1. Garak/Bashir
2. Fluff
3. New Year
4. Star Trek
5. Friendly and Sweet

1. Garak/Bashir.
Oh, I love these boys so much! My husband more or less forced me to watch DS9 with him, while I was still a TNG girl only. One look at Garak meeting Bashir had me hooked so badly that I forgot all other pairings I liked for quite a while! I mean honestly! If those two hadn't been red-taped, we would have had the first true gay love story on Star Trek. The actors were ok with it, the writers were ok with it and I'll eat my hat if less than 80% of the fans wouldn't have loved it too! Poo for US censorship.
It's like these boys have a whole bunny farm for themselves in my already crowded mind. I can keep writing about them to no end apparently! They have such depth and charm both of them. How can you NOT love them??

2. Fluff.
No matter how much I try to persuade the world that I'm cool and tough, I just can't seem to hide my true nature when it comes to writing. I'm a hopeless sap and I can't seem to write any other genre than romance and/or sweet porn. But then again, I'm blessed with great love in my life, so I suppose it's only natural to write about what I know. And I can't get enough of happy endings. Even really crappy fanfics can grow on me if there's a good happy ending. :o)

3. New Year.
New year means new hope. A lot of people see it as the biggest party of the year, but I really don't need the party as much as I need to think back to the year passed and the one ahead. I've had some crappy years, but the new year is always a source of new hope to me, and I regain a lot of lost optimism when the year turns.

4. Star Trek.
I saw my first Star Trek episodes when I was about 12, I think. TNG was my first love for years, but I also enjoyed the TOS movies. Somehow the series never caught me. But TNG... oh wow. I was a Data fangirl for years and still am. But then I was pulled into DS9 and now my beloved android has some real competition in the DS9 crowd. Not just Garak and Bashir, but basically the whole bunch. I love Sci-fi and fantasy in general, but Star Trek will always have a very special place in my heart. My name is Minna... and I'm a trekkie!

5. Friendly and Sweet.
Well... if that's a compliment, I'm deeply flattered. *blush* I was raised to be a good person. I thank my mother and grandmother for showing me the advantages of following the 'do unto others' guideline. I work under the assumption that all people are basically good. It's earned me some severe hits over time, but I stand by my idealistic and perhaps somewhat naïve opinion. Harsh lessons and disappointments can change people, but I still believe we all have the potential to be good.
