LOL, nice. I've made these "motivational posters" on Photobucket too. Usually with some terrible inappropriate and not motivating message under them - preferably with a swear word in there - as I hate those darn things! like this one. Though put yours in my office and it would make me happy to be there. :D
They are practically dancing in that scene and Garak is definitely invading Bashir's personal space. And Julian doesn't seem to mind at all despite his Englishness. :D
It's even funnier because that is *not* the closest their faces get in that scene. :0) Plus, Bashir looks so exaspherated. I find this scene just hilarious, generally.
This episode (and this scene) is also pivotal on one interesting point: this is the first episode in which you can clearly see that Bashir is taller than Garak. Before this, they would use subtle camera tricks to disguise that fact, but in this episode and after, they never do.
Before this, they'd do stuff like shoot Bashir from slightly above and Garak from slightly below during a lunch conversation, or less subtle stuff like that spectacular chocolate-giving in Improbable Cause, where they have an entire conversation with Garak standing on the raised bit in the doorway, so he towers over Bashir.
This is great! I love how Garak steps close... then closer... then even closer. You just don't have two people that close to each other in real life, unless...
Of course, this is not real life, and in films and on tv they sometimes have actors stand much closer than natural for a tighter and more dramatic shot.
Anyway, outstanding. I always wondered if the tux irritated Garak's ridges. I think I read that they had to have the shirt specially made.
