I cannot keep secrets about myself... Other peoples' secrets: no problem. But my own.... I have no idea why that is.

I can't understand the fuss either. The commenters act like I bash and degrade Britney Fans (Which I don't). I just tease them a little, just like they would tease me that I like anything if there's porn in it. (Uhm... yeah.)
I'm mostly embarrassed about liking some of her songs when I dislike the woman herself so much.
She sings ok, sure, but she's by no means a musical genius. She doesn't write her own songs and she sets a terrible example to girls around the world. She's a sellout and an airhead, so I feel really bad about supporting her in any way by paying for her music. I only feel a little better from the fact that my CD of her songs is copied, not bought. Ahem.

Brittney fans should be bashed and degraded LOL. They should be forced to listen to *good* music until they regain their senses.
Seriously, my bf and I had a big discussion about this and it is his contention that there is no "real" music anymore--that most music is produced by record companies that groom kids from and early age to love whatever they tell them to love. That's where Brittney and Justin Timberlake and the Jonas' Bros and Hannah Montana come from.

I can't say I disagree with him. Music seems to have become a commodity for the most part. Really good music (esp. protest music or political music) has to be produced and distributed by the artists because it doesn't fit into the paradigm of these big companies. And then they act butthurt that no one wants to pay the $11 for the CD and instead pirate it online...Solution: Stop making shit.

Now, if you don't mind, I am going to go back to watching the Star Trek vid set to "Circus" (which I am so addicted to its not even funny *hangs head*)
