A bit of this and that.

Firstly, some everyday stuff:
Our potatoes have rotted... again. It happens like every other time we buy potatoes. We use half and then forget the rest in the cupboard. I guess we're more into pasta and rice.

Secondly, some mental stuff:
Last night I told hubby some of my innermost fears. Some of those completely unrealistic ones that make my mental life hell on earth. I never dared telling him before, first of all because I knew they were pointless, and also because I didn't want him to freak out and worry too much about my mental state. But when it came down to it, he took it like a champ and renewed his promises to be there for me through this whole thing. God, I love that man SO much!

Thirdly, some fannish stuff:
I am seriously in a smutty mood these days... and Merlin feeds my craving. Yay for finding a huge and active fandom to provide me with new and glorious smut. Aaaahhhh.
I still need G/B, though. Hence the porny quote of today.
Must go finish my Dom!Bashir fic soon...

Well, it's not so much dom!Bashir as much as it's assertive-knows-what-he-wants-isn't-afraid-to-patiently-lay-in-wait-until-he-gets-what-he-wants!Bashir. Who is also pretty awesome, just in a much more sneaky kind of way :D

And I need incentive to make it Because I suck at motivation at the moment. So... get back to me quickly?

I'll try. If Pea gives me the time, I'll give it a go. The Merlin thing only took like 30 mins to write. But I fear I'll be pulling my hair for weeks over the Bashir fic.

Well, knowing my current state of mind and ability to put things off 'til kingdom come, it'll probably be well into next year before I ever get this vid done. Which would be sad, because every time the song I want to use comes up on shuffle or on the radio I grin like a mad thing. And I also now have this idea for a post-series G/B project that won't go away. I... promise to try, though? :)

I also have this idea for a fic involving a slightly dom Bashir, but we're not going to go there, mostly because I suck at writing so very much at the moment :(

I think it's because I was raised by an obsessively pennypinching mother, so now all I can think of when I shop is how to get as much as possible for as little money as possible. And even though I logically know they'll probably go to waste in the end, I can seem to teach my brain the stupidity of it all.

I have the same thing with potatoes. I know this about myself, and I only buy a few at a time. Maybe four or five, unless we have company or a recipe calls for more. But Mr. Sparky is all about the value-for-your-money thing, so when he goes shopping we end up with a whole big bag.

And it's so so great about hubby. When you find out you can share even stuff you thought would be too much, and he's right there, unfazed, being supportive and loving, well, it's gotta make you feel less alone and afraid, no? [hugs]

Oh, and about the potatoes... You don't store them with onions, do you? Because onions can definitely make potatoes go bad. Store them separately, if you don't already.

It does. It was a huge step for me. I think it's the therapy starting to kick in. I'm having more and more better days already. I cry a lot more, but I'm also calmer when I'm not. :o)

Don't store them with onions, no. But I fear we may have a storage problem, because all our cupboards in the kitchen are ridiculously hot, even when the heating isn't on. So it's like putting them in a greenhouse. And we can't not have them in a cupboard, because the light will have them growing all over the floor in no time.

I think teaching my stupid brain to buy fewer potatoes at once. Blah.

Do the potatoes rot? Do they grow things when they do that? Because I've seen potatoes when all the little eyes have grown... things, and it's kind of pretty freaky. Maybe you could plant them.

I wandered into the Merlin fandom once. I did not stay long, but that was due to having a short attention span rather than anything else. YAY FOR NEW AND GLORIOUS SMUT. :D

No, in the cupboard they rot. As in, turn to mush/mold/little wrinkled monsters. If we leave them out in the light, they grow. Like mad! Like little creepy tentacle monsters!

Merlin fandom was a bit of a shock for me. The first 5 fics I found where genderbenders and the most outrageous AU's. But then again, Merlin is a whole AU in itself considering the original Arthurian legend.

Every now and then I volunteer in a food co-op thing, and when I've put old potatoes in the compost... it's gross. The tentacle/root things really creep me out, for whatever reason. Mold, however, can also be quite gross.

Yeah, it really is itself au, isn't it? My mom's really into the Arthurian stuff. She actually walked out of one of the recent movie adaptations, so I was surprised when she watched Merlin and liked it.

She walked out because of what they did to Guinevere - to my understanding, they made her into the gungho slut-tastic female warrior cliche media seems to love so much, so I understand that. So maybe I shouldn't have been surprised she liked Merlin. It may put the characters in non-traditional places, but it does *think* about what it does with them.
