Merlin 2X4: Lancelot and Guinevere

ladydraceWooo! Another Merlin episode! Not as epic as the last one, but still VERY enjoyable. Top notch Merlin and Arthur scenes and fodder for practically every ship in the series! :oD
Lancelot and Guinevere... well, the title gives a lot away.
Is that knight in front... William?? The peasant??? Nah... but he kinda looks like him. Hehe.
Gwen/Arthur moment. Cute. Even more cute though, is Merlin hauling Arthur's stuff. Hehe.
For once Morgana isn't quite as sharp as she has been before. Either that, or Arthur is too much her brother for her to really notice his feelings at all, as too often happens with siblings.
"When do I get to meet any decent men?" In about 10 mins, I'd say, if the title is anything to go by.
Ok, this is a little strange. Both Gwen and Morgana can fight with swords, but they act like true damsels in distress here. Blah.
Ooooh, thugs knowing who they are. So now Morgana's REALLY kidnapped. LOL. The irony is entertaining!

Sneaky plan from the girls apparently.
A... bath. Apparently Morgana's willing to go all the way for their escape, even stripping in front of ogling thugs. So now she's gone from heads on fighting to clever use of her feminine wiles. Not bad, but a bit of a character switch for her. But I guess it's no different than bumbling Gwen suddenly being able to string a coherent sentence together and Arthur going caveman in the first episode.
Merlin is standing so close behind Arthur that he must be breathing down his neck. Hehe. Fangirl is happy.
And as usual, Merlin doesn't even nod at the king as he leaves. I guess Uther is either too worried to care, or has just gotten used to Merlin being useless at court practices.
I like the thug's accent. :o) "Unfortunately for you, I am no kind of gentleman." AWESOME!!
Now we're getting somewhere! Badass chicks are back! WOOO!! Elbow in the face and sword twirling! GO MORGANA!
Aw, noble Gwen. Teling Morgana to go on without her. *sigh* femslashers arise!
Ok, Arthur and party arrives. They see people lying around and yet they kinda saunter into the middle of it. Excuse me? If it was me, I think I'd at least kick my horse forward a little faster to see if Morgana and Gwen were there or anyone was alive. None of them seem to be in any kind of hurry. Not at first anyway. Blah. Not liking it.
Concentrated Arthur face again. :oD
Morgana, terrified, in her underwear, bleeding from the head, and the first thing Arthur does is ask: "Where's Guinevere?" Back to caveman, huh Arthur? *facepalm*
Oh, so it's not really (or only) a ransom the thugs are after? Hmmm. The plot thickens.
Worried!Uther again. I really like him. But shit... I think I might be starting to ship Uther/Morgana. In a "First Knight" kinda way. The ships of this series are ENDLESS!!
As much as I might agree with Morgana that Gwen should be saved, I also understand Uther's logic. How many able men for one maid? It's not a positive score.
And Arthur sees it too. Poor guy.
"I don't want her honored, I want her rescued!" Morgana/Gwen shippers unite! WOO!
Uh oh... Gaius giving her "the eyebrow". I smell some calming draughts in her immediate future.
"She is 'more' than just my maid" *passing around buckets for Morgana/Gwen shippers to melt in*
As sad as it is, Uther (without knowing the expanded plot) could very well be right about Gwen being dead already, unless of course she's met a fate worse than that, which he's not at all likely to tell Morgana. But Arthur knows, clearly.
And I suspect Merlin does too. Or at least knows there is more to it.
Poor Morgana, when the reality finally gets through to her. Begging Arthur for help? Phew. It's love, people.
Great acting from Bradley here. Sounding aloof and distant, while his whole body shows how uncomfortable he is. His adam's apple is bungy jumping...
Cue Gaius, the dealer...
Oooooh, Gwen looks smashing in the red cloak. Niiice.
OMG! That king! (Or whatever he is) it's James Cosmo! He rocks!. :oD And his accent is also awesome!
Gwen makes a good show of being Morgana. For good reason too, I suppose.
Morgana ranting and yelling! LOL! Cute brother and sister moment. :o)
Aaaawww, and another daddy!Gaius moment. I love the Gaius and Merlin interaction, but Morgana seems to be making Gaius act like a bit of an idiot sometimes.
ROFL!! AMAZING ARTHUR/MERLIN MOMENT HERE! "I don't know! Do I have to think of everything?!" Heheheheh. *fetching a bucket for myself too*
Skittish guards are skittish. LOL!
Ooops, overdid it there a bit, huh, Merlin.

Aw, ew. Cue giant naked mole rat. Blah. Maybe the money for special effects ran out. And yes. Naked mole rats really ARE that ugly up close. But again, the animal sound is way too much. *sigh* The sound people need to look into that a little more carefully.
Merlin falling of his horse. Hehe. Poor guy. So sleepy. But Arthur does have a point. There 'is' a life at stake.

Uh... same romance music with Gwen/Lancelot as with Gwen/Arthur. Kinda half hearted. Bugger.

Ok, there's something not quite right here... the math doesn't add up. Hengist expects reply from Uther by morning, but the earliest Arthur (or anyone from Uther's court) could be expected to arrive would be about dawn. So either Hengist is the most impatient man on the planet, or this bit wasn't thought out properly.
"Tunnels of.... Andor." Du du du dummmmmmmmmm!!! LOL!
Aw, that whole scene is delightful. Arthur actually caring that Merlin will be scared out of his wits and embarrassing himself for it.

Awwwwwww. Gwen/Lance love story working SO much better than Gwen/Arthur. Beautiful. :oD I think it's because Lance pining for her from a distance works better than some rather sudden sexual tension.
"You didn't KNOW if they worked?!" "Oh, what's that wildren eating? S'alright, it's just Melin!" Hehehe. The Arhur/Merlin scenes are TOP NOTCH!

Awkward moment between them after that. Awwww. And of course Merlin tries to diffuse the tension by poking him about Gwen.
The way Colin says 'love' makes me hot. *fans*

"You wanna MARRY Gwen?" He obviously just thought it was a bit on the side. And honestly, I think that would have been better for all if it was.

OMG the most beautiful moment here. "I will make your life a living hell" "You mean, more than you already do?" LOL!! I'm so happy!
And LOL LOL LOL! Merlin stil wanting to talk about Arthur's feelings! He really is a bit of a girl sometimes, isn't he? And WAAAAY too interested in Arthur's lovelife than can possibly be good for him. :oP

GUH! Lance is truly a lover! And the Gwen/Lance kiss was so much better than Arthur/Gwen, which was wildly overdone!
Lancelot's fight scene is a little cheesy, though.

Ok... Arthur climbs a hugely high wall wearing heavy chain mail with complete ease. And Merlin, being the clumsy clutz he is, can actually climb a practically straight wall? Uhm... plothole.. (Not to be confused with clotpole)
But even then there's time for banter. Hehe.
Poor Merlin being the distraction. He pulls it off nicely, though, turning the goons around for Arthur to sneak up behind. And boy does he sneak nicely! And THAT was just showing off. :oP

Oh my god, I know right? I lose my mind EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I hear him say that sentence. *dies*
Especially when you add in the other Arthur/Merlin bits (THE ENDING. OMG, BEST EVAR!) since we all know "you're an idiot" = "I love you" for Arthur. XD;
