Also, when I had trouble falling asleep last night, I started a story in my head... and I'm afraid to write it. I mean honestly. It crosses my two major ships in a cross over of dooooooooom. Merlin/DS9 crossover. Oh yeah. You heard me.

Merlin does some kind of magic fuckup and ends up odles of years in the future and way out in the galaxy. Some spaceship picks him up and dumps him at DS9. He wonders at all the weird aliens, asking if they're magical creatures and stuff like that. Of course he's checked over by Dr. Bashir and of course Garak drops in, because he's a nosy parker. Merlin is totally fascinated by Garak and cue jealous!Bashir. Magical/technobabble/cracktastic shenanigans ensue!!

OMG, if I ever write this, it'll be the weirdest thing EVER!!

You don't even have to make it a priority of any kind. Just have it be something you go back to every few days, or whenever you're in the mood, and see where the muses take you :)

But I'm working on a surprise for you. Have you seen Sid and Ralph Fiennes in "A Dangerous Man: Lawrence After Arabia"? It came out in 1991 and Sid plays the role Sir Alec Guinness played in "Lawrence of Arabia". There is a lot of slashy goodness in this film as historians have often rumored that Feisel (Sid's character) and Lawrence were lovers. I have the DVD and I'm in the process of getting screen grabs from it.

Oh, you haven't seen "Dangerous Man" yet? You gotta gotta see it. Sid is just so yummy-on-toast in it. His eyes, his beard, his eyes, his smile, and did I mention his eyes? Oh, and he rides a horse and wears flowing desert robes and WWI-period western suits... and he's oh so young. *sigh* I think Sid is great at any age, actually; he looks amazing now, but he's just, oh, I might have to use the word "dreamy" here. Ack.

Uhm... I don't think writing it would be all that hard. The problem is more finding time for it. I have to have at least half an hour or so to get something started, and with Pea, that's just not possible right now.

I think it would start at DS9, actually. Dax spotting some anomaly or something, as she often does, and Merlin would probably be encased in some magic stuff, protecting him from the vacuum of space or something. Vague ideas are plentiful in my head.

It could be a lot of fun as an ongoing project, you know, with no pressure to be on a certain schedule or even to finish it any time soon, just to take out and play in your two favorite fandoms whenever you feel like it. It's an awesome idea! Crossovers are awesome!

I get a big kick out of stories where slash couples from different universes meet up. Some of them are pretty formulaic, but I love them anyway, and some are fantastic and insightful...either way they're great fun!
