Movie of the day: Zodiac.
Good:
The obsession of the whole thing. From the killer himself to everyone else involved. The allure of the mystery was captured very well through the entire movie.
I loved the glimpse of Dirty Harry in the movie theatre and thereby reminding me of Andrew Robinson. Cool to know that his character was actually based on Zodiac too. :o)
Toschi. He was excellent.
Bad:
Robert Downey Jr. Wow, he was annoying in this. Despite the fact that (or maybe even because) he was exactly like he always was. It just didn't fit here. He felt shoe-horned in, somehow.
The songs chosen to depict the era. None of them evoked any kind of emotion and after a while, they mostly felt distracting.
The gay thing. For some reason the suspicion that the killer was gay felt kinda highlighted. As if the disgust many of the investigators felt over this mental illness (which in the 70's and early 80's was how it was veiwed) would convey the same message 30 years later? That the suspect was a deviant? Or a nutcase? Whatever the case, I was indeed disgusted, but not for the reason I'm sure it was meant.
Final notes:
I have to say, that I was not quite well myself when I watched this movie, so I could bu judging it unfairly, but I found it annoying and drawn-out, rather than mysterious and tasty as I feel it could have been.
Random pic:
The watch. Because I thought it was a cool detail.
