This is such a beautiful story, and still gets me every time after all these years. (It wasn't the first G/B story I read, but it was the first one to really stay with me.) Humour and character in Dax's POV and the senior staff's jammies, poor blushing Julian (and his clavicles). Sisko and Garak and their resolve not to let the personal commotion interfere with business. (Thinking about it, the way Kathryn portrayed Sisko here had a big influence on how I portrayed him in Sanctuary.)

Such a classic. It's one of those that you can really *see* in your head, as clearly as if it had been filmed. A great story.

Poor Julian, during the meeting! But good for him, for finding the strength to stand up to the disapproval of the others. When Dax says at the end that Bashir could be a good influence on Garak, I always think that Garak could be a good influence on Bashir.
