I've won something!! And not just anything!! A drawing of one of my favorite slash pairings: Toad/Nightcrawler! So cute and beautiful! And it's all mine! I'm so happy I hardly know what to do with myself! The lovely falasamamade this for me for guessing a pun hidden in her most recent Toad/Nightcrawler fic: Do Me in the Beanbag Isle. (and yes, it's as funny as it sounds!)

(But seriously, as an artist myself, I just can't help but being a critic. I have to give some critisism at least, otherwise I feel I missed something. There are a lot of things I think could have been done better here, but I'm too tired for that now)

Oh I have to say that this drawing is awesome for the short amount of time put into it. Falasama did warn who ever won it that she just did not have time to really make something super awesome, so I was more or less just expecting a rough sketch or something. Instead I get a wonderful, colored, shaded, background'ed' work of art!

Not being much of an artist myself, I can't help but be in awe. Especially since I got to pick the theme and I've never seen Toad in Nightcrawler's lap before! So it makes my insanely happy either way!

What frustrates me the most is that I cannot determine what kind of colours it is!
I'd say watercolours but some of thelines are too fine and don't work the way they do..

I have no idea who these characters are, but I like this very much! I think it's a really solid, well-done piece of art.

I mean, there are categories and levels to amateur art, you know? To me, this would have to be placed into a pretty high level. The characters are very well rendered. Proportions are perfect; nothing seems odd or out-of-sync with the rest. The faces and bodies have a believability that comes from being confidently depicted. The expressions are very accurately done, too.

The artist called this a "rough sketch"?? Well, I'm pretty impressed. This is just as good as any book illustration I've seen.

Congrats! I think you won a really cool prize! (Think this artist would do a Garak/Bashir for us????)

Well, she didn't call it a rough sketch (I think those were my words) but she just said she wouldn't put too much time into it. And I agree, if this is what she smacks together on short notice, I can't wait to see what she does with plenty of time on her hands! *Goes to check her deviant art page*

Sadly, I don't think she does G/B. I great loss, I admit.
