...am I the only person here who likes G/B and likes Ezri?
She has a Kaylee Smile, of the kind that's just really endearing.
Besides, getting that many voices and personalities in your head with zero training or preparation, then being hurled back into trying to do your old job as a new person, plus being around the place and people eerily familiar from one of your other personalities, including some your other self loved but you're not yet sure of... oh yes, and all of this during a war, in which you're awaiting the risk of dying horribly if where you are gets overrun. Hmm, I'm guessing that those are things that would throw anybody off-kilter.
I just want to hug her and help her sort out her headspace.

To be quite honest, I haven't seen her yet in the canon universe. I've read about her on memory alpha and seen a few youtube vids.

I have to admit that Ziyal turned out to be a real sweetie, so I was positively surprised there, despite a lot of bashing I had heard of her. But Ezri...

Setting aside my displeasure with the B/E relationship (Which could be much much worse) I just think she seems... inadequate as a Trill host. Considering that a hard-ass like Jadzia nearly broke down during the evaluation, I find it extremely hard to believe that this little mouse ever had the balls to be accepted as a host. Especially for a symbiont as widely known as Dax. She's cute, I grant you that, but she just seems so annoying. Especially to Garak who must have found her desire to help him rather ridiculous and unwelcome.

I'll agree any day that's she's cute and innocent. But I still don't like her character. But you never know, I might still be pleasantly surprised when I finally watch season 7.

Minor spoiler:


She wasn't accepted as a host. There were medical complications for the Dax symbiont en route to Trill. Ezri was the only Trill on the ship. She never wanted to be a host, but couldn't let a symbiont die.
So she was utterly unprepared for what happened.

Well that makes sense at least. She just seems annoying to me. Confused and not at all suited for a life on DS9.

Oh well. Only time (and season 7) will tell what I end up really thinking of her.

She develops as much as they can manage over the season... I seem to recall that Bashir was initially rather annoying, until he grew up a bit. :p

I actually loved Bashir from the first moment. He was just adorably awkward. Who knows, maybe Ezri will turn out to appeal to me the same way. I will be surprised if she does, but it's not impossible. I was fully prepared to despise Ziyal for being the "emergency female romantinc interest for the just a little too gay character" on the show. But she was just sweet. :o)

Yeah, Ziyal's so sweet. I think it's the way she tries to think the best of everybody.
Even if she'd lived I don't think it would have worked out with her and Garak though. I kinda like the idea of an AU where she gradually matures and actually does help Bajor and Cardassia reconcile, with Garak having helped her to become just worldly enough to survive. And then she'd move on, and get married, and he'd totally send her kids little toy phasers and other things that'd get her periodically sending mildly scolding messages to Garak... while Julian sighs and rolls his eyes and is all "you should have let me pick the presents, Elim."

I think I'm going to have to try to write it. Right after the one where Garak was disguised to infiltrate the Bajoran resistance, and the person he fell for and betrayed the Order in hopes of saving turned out to be another disguised Cardassian, hence his disgrace. That one'd be both Garak/male OC and then Garak/Bashir.
